The Voluntary Action Sapphire Awards 2022 too recently took place at The Telegraph Hotel, and The Enterprise Club received the 'Best Practise in Volunteer Involvement' Award. THe club received a trophy and a £250 donation to mark the occasion.

Our fantastic volunteers enable our members to achieve and enjoy the time spent at their club, and it is lovely to receive this recognition.

The Enterprise Club is a long-established charity in Coventry that provides social and leisure activities for all disabled people. The club operates day and evening sessions involving day centres, handicraft group and sports evenings. We are heavily reliant on volunteers in bringing members to the club in our three adapted minibuses, operating a coffee bar, organising games, and acting as befrienders to the members. There can be as many as 50 volunteers helping during a year, and many have been with the club for over 20 years.

Voluntary Action Coventry exists to promote and support social action and community resilience in Coventry, in order to strengthen communities, build capability, and improve quality of life for residents in the city. Their mission is to tackle inequalities and disadvantage in Coventry and encourage social responsibility by building capacity in communities and individuals.
