As well as our standard weekly programme, regular trips to the theatre are organised for the members.
Three wheelchair-adapted Minibuses are used for the transport of any members who cannot make it to the club on their own and are also used to transport them to fundraising events and sports days around the country. However, we are always looking for volunteers capable of driving these vehicles. We have a great group of volunteers who drive for us regularly (at least once per month) but we still have spaces on our driving rotas. If you believe you can help us in this please visit the Volunteers Page.
The A Team is a day centre for our members who are younger at heart. We meet on Mondays. This is a more active group and they do quizzes, karaoke, crafts, artwork, pool, computer games, board games, ten pin bowling (trips out) and many other activities.
The Day Centre has over 30 members who enjoy coming to the club to socialise with one another. Some of the Day Centre members enjoy games of Dominoes, Draughts or Scrabble. Lunch is ordered from the local fish and chip shop. About once a month the group enjoy a ‘Pub Lunch’ at a local public house and occasionally some entertainment is organised after lunch.
The Handicraft Group has around 25 members who enjoy a variety of crafts ranging from rug making, knitting, sewing, crochet, embroidery, toy-making and tray-making. Members bring their own lunches to this session. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available during the breaks.
The group is intended to be a “working” group and in October each year the members hold an exhibition week where all the items made during the year are entered in a competition and then sold to raise funds for the Club.
